What is ASME?

ASME is the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. ASME was founded in 1880 with the mission to encourage and aid the technical competence and profesionalism of its members through programs, seminars, activities, and other means. ASME creates and maintains design and manufacturing codes and standards that are accepted worldwide.

The Texas A&M University student section serves to provide services to its members. Some of these services are:
- Expose students to companies.
- Give students the opportunity to network with peers and professionals.
- Improve and maintain the Mechanical Engineering Computer Lab.
- Have fun.
